She was a thoughtful and caring person, always living by the Golden Rule. She authored a book for her family about her life, including many memories of early days in Salina.

She was a silk finisher, working in several dry cleaning establishments in Salina. She retired at the age of 75. Dorothy lived in her own home until the age of 98 years, at which time she went to live with her son and his wife.

The celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Because Dorothy dearly loved animals and because she received lots of love and care, memorials may be made to Salina Animal Shelter, Holiday Resort Care Facility or Salina Church of Christ.
