MASSARI, ROCCO (ROCKY) born in Pietragalla, Italy on October 10, 1929. He passed away at home on April 29, 2009. Rockys family immigrated to Palmdale from Italy in 1935. He attended Palmdale Grammar School and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and except for twelve years living in Bishop, CA, spent his life in the Antelope Valley. Rocky was self employed and enjoyed his family, hunting, golf, fishing, and was an avid reader of books regarding WWII. Rocky is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Marilee, his three children from a previous marriage, Steve (Grace), Mary Jane (Terry) Born, and Donald, five grandchildren, sister, Anna Miller, and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Maria Massari, and his brother, Louis. In lieu of flowers Rockys family suggests that donations be sent to City of Hope or Hoffman Hospice. Funeral Service is at 10am on Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. Marys Catholic Church, Palmdale, Calif. Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
