“Mrs. Cornelia Eby Dies; Rites Set This Afternoon”
Mrs. Cornelia Eby, widow of M.S. Eby, died yesterday after an illness of eight weeks. Funeral services will be held today at the Welsh parlors with L.H. Unglesby of the Christian Science church, officiating. Interment will be in Felder cemetery.
Mrs. Eby was widely known here and in Ascension parish where she was a member of a widely known family. She resided in Sorrento for some 40 years and came here after the death of her husband a few years ago.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Martha Opdenweyer; four nieces, Mrs. E.B. Doran and Miss Lelia Opdenweyer, both of Baton Rouge, Miss Edith Denham of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. C.C. Mattingly of Thibodaux; two nephews, T.D. Spiller and Felix Spiller, bothg of this city, and two great-nephews, E.B. Doran, Jr., and T.D. Spiller, Jr.
