Visitation was held Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peacock Family Chapel and Friday, April 17, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Lamar Christian Church.
Leona was born July 24, 1934 at Lamar, Colorado to Elmer B. and Bertha M. (Warner) Ausmus and passed away on April 14, 2009 at Juniper Village with her family by her side at the age of 74.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Dean Mulberry, parents; Elmer "Dutch" and Bertha M. Ausmus, her sister; Glenys Hooker, brother; Elmer L. "Vern" Ausmus and her nephew; JR Hooker.
Leona is survived by her children; Jake (Jackie) Mulberry of Canon City, Colorado, Trena (Terry) Hainer of Lamar and Tito "Olguin" (Mary) Mulberry of Montana. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister; Irene (Jerry) East of Vinton, Louisiana, sisters-in-law; Lenore Mulbery of Lamar and Doris Mulberry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brother-in-law; Harold Mulberry of Wisconsin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice direct or in care of the funeral home office.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
