STARKE-Willie Mae Wiggins Lang, 98, of Starke, died Thursday, April 23, at Windsor Manor Care Center of Starke, following an extended illness.
Born in Shellman, Ga., Mrs. Lang was a retired homemaker; member of Free Cannon Church of God Praise, Starke and attended school in Shellman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lang.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Mamie McCutchen, Gladys Booker, Daisy Davis, all of Starke, Maxine Slay of Lincoln, Del., Betty Penson, Willie Wilson and Caroline Slay, all of Orlando; a grandson, Melvin Davis of Starke; 129 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lang will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at the Church of God by Faith, Starke, with the Rev. Alvin Green, eulogist, and Elder James E. McKnight conducting the services. Burial will be in Oddfellow Cemetery under the care of Haile Funeral Home, Inc. of Starke. Visitation will be Friday, May 1, at Haile Memorial Chapel. Family hour will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.; friends 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. McCutchen to form the cortege at 12:30 pm.
