Apparently troubled from birth by a weak heart, Mable became the favorite of her parents and when sibling rivalry and competition ensued Gladys, the elder sibling, was sent next door to live with her grandparents. Mable was a pretty auburn haired girl who was very popular at the Public School; and is said to have been a very determined, spiteful girl who concentrated on getting her way. According to Court document dated 30 Sept. 1919 Mable A. Pelsor petitioned the Probate court of Cass County, Missouri for a guardian for herself and for her property. A Mr. Knorpp was appointed. The property referred to was the home of her grandfather, who was live, but had been deeded to Mable A. Pelsor.
Mabel married, 25 Oct. 1920, and contracted "consumption" which is what tuberculosis was called at the time. Mable died at 20 years of age.
