Lena Ragsdale Strother of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Mitchell Manor. Born on June 11, 1908 in Orange County, Indiana, she was the daughter of David and Laura (Gerkin) Logan. She married Edward Strother in January, 1947, and he died in April, 1978.
Surviving are one son, Leroy L. Ragsdale of Bedford, IN; two granddaughters, Linda Goodin of Bedford, IN, and Rita Mathews of Ocala, FL; one grandson, Maurice Ragsdale of Linton, IN; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Claude Harris, Everett Harris, Roscoe Harris, and Austin Harris; and one sister, Lela Phillips.
She was retired from the Greystone Hotel, where she had served as head cook for thirty-six years. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Services for Lena Strother will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 7, at the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Pastor Paul Neuman officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
