After the service, he worked for the Beaumont Fire Department for over thirty years. He umpired in Beaumont Little Leagues for many years; was a member of the Port Neches Lions Club (chief cook); attended First United Methodist Church in Port Neches for fifteen years.
Harold liked to spend his retirement fishing, gardening, dancing, bowling, watching sports and spending time with his family.
He was survived by his wife, Cookie Felps; stepsons and daughters-in-law Leslie and Linda Allen, Steve and Michelle Allen and Eddie Allen; step grandchildren, Philip and Chris Allen, Roxane, Tracy and Chad Allen; step great grandchildren, Isaac and Jenna Allen; twin brother, Howard Felps and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by Alvie Felps and his sister, Marie Smith.
