Francis Clyde Amey 1883-1923

Francis Clyde Amey was born April 22, 1883 in Anthony, Harper county, Kansas to James Silas Amey and Sarah Elizabeth (Earp) Amey. He was known as "Clyde" by his family and friends.

He had two siblings including; Joseph Roscoe Amey and Forrest Dell Amey.

Clyde, came to Oregon with his parents and his mother's Amey family, but returned to Illinois about 1896.

He married Jessie Alice "Jennie" McKelvie on February 6, 1906 in Alexis, Mercer county, Illinois. She was the daughter of Michael McKelvie and Marion (Peacock) McKelvie.

Shortly after their marriage, the couple immigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada and lived there for a short time before returning to Oregon and settling in Wallowa county.

They became the parents to three daughters including; Merin Sarah Amey (who died in Canada), Jessie Frances (Amey) Childers (wife of Russel Earl Childers) and Hallibel "Hallie" (Amey) Herndon.

Clyde passed away December 3, 1923 in Union county, Oregon and was laid to rest in the Prairie Creek Cemetery, Joseph, Wallowa county, Oregon.
