Agnes and her parents George D & Margaret Reynolds Bix and 6 siblings crossed the Atlantic aboard the Furnessia from England departing from Liverpool, England and Queenstown and Valencia and arriving in the United States in arriving on 25 Jun 1883 in New York City, NY, while the children were small.

The Bix family came to Taylor County IA when Agnes was 14 and they located in Mason Township and joined the Morning Star Presbyterian Church in the area.

Agnes married Jesse Witt 11 Apr 1892 and had one daughter they divorced a few years later.

Agnes married William Frank Dougherty and had three children, Edna May died in infancy.

Agnes lived most of her life in and around Bedford, IA. She did return to England for a visit in 1901.

Agnes died in a mental health institute, where she had been a patient for the 6 months before her death.
