Uncle Henry BURCH, an old and highly respected citizen of Flippin Barrens died last Saturday and was buried with Masonic honors, at the family grave yard on Mr. Burch's farm, last Sunday. A large concourse of relatives, friends and brethren were present at the funeral. Mr. Burch was about 80 years old, and had been suffering some time with cancer. He was one of the early settlers of Marion county, and was one of the best citizens the county has ever had. Mr. Burch was born in Union Co. Ga., Feb. 22nd 1821. Came to Arkansas in 1848. He was the father of 13 children, 10 of whom are living. He was a believer in christianity but never joined any church. Was made a Mason at Yellville 1863. He expressed himself as willing to die. He had suffered acutely with cancer since August. The mother of his children died about 5 years ago.
Note: Henry was born in Pendleton County South Carolina. His parents moved to Union County Georgia when he was a teen.
