Merle Dutton, son of [John] Elmer Dutton, passed suddenly away at their home north of town Monday evening at about six p. m. He had been sick with whooping cough, but was not thought to be in a serious condition until Monday he rapidly grew worse until death suddenly claimed the manly little fellow of ten years. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Oak Hill church. Interment at Gravity cemetery by the side of his mother, who had preceded him. A few hours before his death he told them all that he would soon be with his mother.
