Harry "Ed" Stevenson, 67, of Mt. Carmel, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in Gibson County, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery.

Mr. Stevenson was born on October 18, 1941, in Vincennes, Ind., the son of Chauncey Stevenson and Mabel Pearl (Cochran) Stevenson. He married Tricia (Cessna) Stevenson on April 11, 1968. She survives and resides in Olney.

He retired after 31 years as a janitor for The Unit #10 School District. He was the past fire chief for Christy Fire Department and was an avid fisherman. He was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.

Mr. Stevenson is survived by his companion, Judy Bridgett, of Mt. Carmel; daughters, Jody and Jeff Johnston, of Bridgeport, and Michelle and Johnathan Yarber Sr., of St. Francisville; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
