E.T. Cosper, a Wheeler County resident for 40 years, passed away at Wichita Falls, June 22, 1952 at the age of 80 years and 20 days. He was born in Shelby County, Alabama, June 2, 1872.

Funeral services were held here at the Methodist Church of Tuesday afternoon, June 24, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. J. Edwin Kirby of Pampa, a former pastor, officiating, assisted by J. Waid Griffin, pastor of the Wheeler Methodist Church.

Mr. Cosper was a member of the Methodist Church. He took a leading part in organizing the Wheeler Masonic Lodge, being third worshipful master.

Survivors are only one son, Bill Cosper, of Wheeler, who was adopted in 1928, three grandchildren and a few other distant relatives. He was preceded in death by three children who died in infancy and one son who passed away at nine years of age and his wife passed away in 1938.

Masonic services were held at the graveside with about thirty masons attending.

Pallbearers were brother masons and included: Harvey Wright, Albert Thomas, Arnold Jones, Archie Hibler, Grainger McIlhany and J.C. Howell.

Interment was in the family plot located in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Kirk-Mason Funeral Home.
