Mr. Butter, 78, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in his residence. He was born on August 11, 1929 to the union of Ennis Butter and Drusilla Giles Butter in Forest Hill. Mr. Butter was a member of the Elwood Baptist Church, retired ironworker, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
His parents, Ennis and Druislla Butter precede him in death.
He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Vivian Butter of Forest Hill; two daughters, Donna Sharp and husband, John of Forest Hill and Sheila Falcon and husband, Daniel of Gretna; three sons, Roger Butter and wife, Helene of Lafayette, Buddy Butter and Donald (Gabby) Butter both of Forest Hill; one brother, Leonard Butter of Forest Hill; two sisters, Helen Gillespie and Charlene Stokes both of Forest Hill; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Butch McGilvray, Todd Butter, Josh Butter, Casey Sharp, Mark Sharp and Brian Butter.
Friends may call today from 8 a.m. until time service at 10 a.m. in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe sent to Elwood Baptist Church Building Fund or Southern Heritage Museum at Long Leaf.
