Susan M. Way Resident of Benicia
Susan M. Way, 55, beloved wife of 28 years of Joseph, and devoted mother of Daniel and Michael, died Sept. 6, 2006 after a long and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Daniel preceded his mother in death five months ago. Sue was raised in Concord, attended college at San Jose State College, and the University of Wyoming. She graduated from Colorado State College in Ft. Collins, Colo., majoring in early childhood development. She had a variety of jobs, the last one as Events Coordinator at the Vallejo Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
She was active in the schools her sons attended, and never missed a band review of either Dan or Mike. She was a kind, giving, compassionate person who never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She loved socializing, reading, travel, music, film, theater, but most of all she loved her family - Joe, Dan and Mike. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; son, Michael; mother, Helen Fink; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Mashore; brother, David Fink and his companion, Lee Moulton; niece, Cori White; nephews, Joey White and Alex Mashore. A special thanks to Sue's aunt, Estelle Berman, and Sue's aide, Mable Oertell, both of whom contributed much to her well being. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m., at her mother's home in Concord.
