Rose E. Bolon, 76, Greer Pioneer, Dies
Rose E. Bolon, 76, a resident of Greer for 50 years, died at 10:15 at her home at Greer. Death was caused by cancer.
Born Rose Gilliland Feb. 3, 1875 at Joplin, MO., she moved to Spokane in 1889 and to Greer in 1901. She was married to Thomas Bolon at Spokane Sept. 30, 1891. He preceded her in death in 1950.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas R. Bolon, Boise; Oscar C. Bolon, Greer, and William G. Bolon, Greer; three daughters, Mrs. Vivian Riley, Spokane; Mrs. Pina Stanford, Caldwell and Mrs. Catherine Gilmore, Pierce; a sister Mrs. May Crump, Spokane, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Final rites were conducted by the Rev. G. Edward Knight at Gilbert's funeral chapel here at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment was at the Riverside cemetery.
