Doreen J. Duechting, 89, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 3:05 a.m. in Golden Living Center/Fountainview Terrace, Laporte.

She was born May 20, 1919 in Sydney, Australia to the late Vera Kimmins. She married Donald F. Duechting in Sydney, Australia, he preceded her in death on April 19, 1951.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Diane Duechting-Wilson of Madison, WI and Kim (Allan) Gabriele of Valparaiso, IN; 1 son, Jay Duechting of Norman, OK; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Queen of All Saint's Catholic Church. Doreen enjoyed playing pinochle, swimming, going to the beach and walking the pier. She also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
