F. LaVerne Post, 90, King City, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MO. He was born June 10, 1918 in Gentry County, Missouri, the son of Floyd Post and Katie (Adams) Post.

LaVerne lived most of his life in King City and attended the King City School. On July 16, 1941, he married Marcella King of Adel, IA in Bethany, MO. She survives at the home. They were married for 67 years.

LaVerne was dedicated to his work. At an early age he went to work for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Keller working on their farms and at their store. He went on to work for the City of King City for 34 years before retiring.

Survivors in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Kathryn Epperson, of Macon, MO; son, Jerry Post, of Warrensburg, MO; granddaughter, Paula Weisbach; grandsons, Chris Epperson, Tim Post, Joe Post and Tom Post; great-grandsons, Nick Hayden, Will Weisbach, Alex Weisbach, Ethan Epperson, Timohty Post and David Post; great-granddaughter, Angela Post and great-great-granddaughter, Kathryn Hayden and 3 step-grandchildren; sisters, Violet Valentine of Adel, IA and HelenTraudt of Lincoln, NE and a special niece, Debbie Warford, Dexter, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Delbert and Lee Henry Post.
