Phyllis Ann LaBine Gilmore, 71, of Bemidji, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at her home. The funeral was at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji. Burial was in Turtle Lake Township Cemetery, in Turtle Lake, rural Bemidji.
She was born May 30, 1933 in Comstock Township, Marshall County, Minn., the daughter of Karl and Jessie (Cook) Turnlund. She was raised and educated in Warren, Minn., graduating from Warren High School in 1951. She married Gerald LaBine Nov 17, 1953. They lived in Turtle River. He died in February. She loved working as a nurses' aid for Beltrami County Nursing Home (now Havenwood) for many years. She married John Gilmore in June of 1992. They lived in Cass Lake in the summer and wintered in Lake Buchannan, Texas. He died Jan. 25, 2000. She loved to spend time with her family. She also liked to travel.
She is survived by a son, Ricky LaBine of Pine City, Minn.; four daughters, Pamela Carlson of Rochester, Darcy (Steve) Schulke of Kingston, Okla., Jan LaBine of Bemidji and Mia (Tom) Sagedahl of Bemidji; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a brother Stan (Audrey) Turnlund of Sherwood, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two brothers Marvin and Ed Turnlund.
