GRASS -- Elton L. Grass of Eugene, passed away May 8, 1988, at the age of 74. He was born January 20, 1914, in Page, Nebraska, and was married August 10, 1939, in Page, Nebraska, to Lucile Stevens. He moved to Oregon in 1939. He was a World War II veteran. He was employed in the logging industry for many years in Roseburg. He ended his career as an independent contractor in the Eugene area. He was a member of the River Road Conservative Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucile of Eugene; his children: Don Grass of Fairfax, Virginia, Nancy Ollivant of Cottage Grove, Nadine Grass of Eugene and Marilyn Freligh of Clatskanie; his brothers: Harold Grass of Long Beach, California, Arthur Grass of Page Nebraska, Arnold Grass of Tecamah, Nebraska; his sisters: Darlene Cunningham of York, Nebraska and Shirley Stewart of Vancouver, Washington; his grandchildren: Doug, Greg and Melissa Ollivant and Jeff and Mike Grass; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Bernard, Edward, Maurice and 1 sister, Constance Hartford. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 11, 1998, at 2 p.m. in LANE MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 5300 West 11th Ave., Eugene, with Dr. Ralph L. Wilson of River Road Conservative Church officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to noon. Interment will be in Lane Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make contributions to the Eugene Mission in care of the funeral home.
