DEBORAH "DEBBIE" GAIL BALLARD, 54, of Barboursville, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord April 27, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. David Lemming. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. She was born July 14, 1954, a daughter of Myrtle Lucas Gibson of Hamlin, W.Va., and the late Harry Arthur Gibson.

She was a graduate of Marshall University. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Dr. Herman Ballard.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert A. Ballard; one daughter and son-in-law, Brigette and Alan Thomas of Barboursville; two sons, Brandon and Brennan Ballard at home; one grandson, Ethan Chase Thomas; one sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Michael Johnson of Hurricane, W.Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Melody Gibson of Saluda, N.C., and Mike and Bonnie Gibson of Hamlin, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Dr. G. Scott Ballard and his wife Leigh of Huntington, W.Va.; mother-in-law Jacqueline Ballard of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank their family and many friends for their prayers and support. They would also like to thank Dr. David Lemming, Dr. Tim Yates, and their church family at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, Dr. Kathy Saber, Cathy Wright from Hospice, and their caregivers, Lisa, Melissa, Debbie and Jamie.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, 5385 W. Pea Ridge Rd., Huntington, WV 25705 or Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709.
