W. S. (Fred). Snyder, 72, of 321 12th St., New Brighton, died Monday afternoon, March 17, 1958, in Providence Hospital, Beaver Falls, after an extended illness. He was born in Armstrong County, a son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Jayne) Snyder. He lived in the vicinity of Buttermilk Falls until he moved to the Beaver Valley about 20 years ago. A superintendent of limestone and clay mines, he retired in 1950. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Georgia (Zellefrow) Snyder; three sons, Floyd of Los Vegas, N. Mex., Francis of New Brighton and Paul, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Emmett (Mae Dawn) Mateer of New Brighton; two brothers, A. R. C. H. Snyder 'of Beaver and S. E. Snyder of Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Estella Patton of Miami, Fla., and 16 grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tonight at the A. D. Campbell funeral home, 720 13th St., Beaver Falls. Funeral services will be held there at 2 p.m. Thursday in charge of Rev. David L. Say, DD, of the Beaver Falls First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be made in Sylvania Hills cemetery, New Brighton.
