Mildred was the daughter of Walter and Myrtle Vick. She moved to Floydada, Tx at a young age. It was there that she married Billy Fred Owens. They lived in various small panhandle towns before moving to Abilene,Tx where they raised four boys(Ronnie Dale, Randy Wayne, Roger Don, and Robert Walter "Bobby"). She also raised her first granddaughter Angela Renee. She retired from Abilene Regional Medical Center after 32 years as a phlebotomist. Mildred and Billy Owens divorced in 2000. She lived the last few years of her life enjoying her 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
