Walter Herman Barmore, youngest son of Horace C. and Mary I. Curtice Barmore, was born on a farm one and one-half miles southeast of Adams on September 9, 1868, and died at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, August 19, 1941, at the age of 72 years, 11 months, 10 days.

His boyhood was spent on a farm assisting his parents with the work. After moving to town he attended Lincoln Normal College and later taught several years in the country schools.
He was united in marriage to Stella M. Porter on November 4, 1894. After farming and teaching several years, he began carpentering which trade he followed until his death.

He leaves his wife, two children, Clarice and Fred, one stepson, Ray Porter, eight grand children, one sister, Carrie, the only one of the family left; also a foster daughter Opal West of Oakland, Nebraska.
Mr. Barmore joined the Presbyterian Church April 3, 1891. He always liked to go to Sunday School and was a teacher of the men's Bible class for many years. He enjoyed the church and missed few services when he was at home.

He was ordained an elder of the church January 7, 1909, 32 years ago and elected clerk of the session December 9, 1917 serving in this capacity for 24 years.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Thursday morning at 10 o:clock with Rev. T.R. Hollingsworth officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery. The young men of the church were pall bearers.
