Langdon served as a Second Lieutenant & Co-Pilot on B-29 #42-24748, 875th Bomber Squadron, 498th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Ada County, Idaho prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 23, 1944 in Santa Ana, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in miscellaneous occupations and also as Married.

Langdon was "Killed In Action" when his B=29, returning from a bombing mission against the port facilities and urban areas of Nagoya, crashed for unknown reasons on Anatahan Island during the war. This B-29 was on it's first mission.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in the Marianas Islands and was later repatriated here on October 4, 1949.

At the families request, his state of birth was added to his headstone (Iowa) instead of his state of residence (Idaho).
