Obituray of Mrs. John Blackman

The funeral of Mrs. John Blackman, who died on Monday night of last week, was held at the M.E. Church, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Roberts. Burial was made at Humeston Cemetery.

Mrs. Blackman's maiden name was Catherine West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah West. She was born in Athens County, Ohio, April 27, 1828, and died January 24, 1911, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 24 days. She made her home with her parents until married to John Blackman on March 24, 1847. Mr. Blackman died several years ago. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Blackman, but only two daughters, Mrs. A.S. Arnold of Dudley, Iowa and Miss Hannah Leota Blackman, who lived with her mother, survive their mother.

Twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of friends mourn the death of Mrs. Blackman. Mrs. Blackman united with the M. E. Church in early womanhood and ever lived a good, faithful christian life.
