Myron Sather 1902-1980

Myron Leonard Sather age 78, passed away at the Clearwater memorial Hospital in Bagley on october 22, 1980. Mr. Sather was born in Gully on February 3, 1902 to parents John and Clara Sather. He was raised in the Gully area and in the 1940's worked on the Alcan Highway in Alaska. he was married to Elenore Moe and they lived in Michigan until moving to California in 1959. Mr.. sather has been back in the Gonvick area since 1962.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Paul and Mary Sather, of Gonvick. Also his grandson, Leif Erick Sather, of Gonvick. Four brothers and one sister: Hammond of Gonvick, Alvin of International Falls, Minnesota, lloyd of St. Paul, Ingolf of Anoka. Sister, Jennie Dvorak of Grand Forks, North Dakota, stepsons, John Williams of Springfield, Missouri and Jim Williams of California; stepdaughters, Mrs. Ruth Bannister of Westminister, California and Mrs. Nancy Libor of Anchorage, Alaska. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Sather was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 25th at 2 p.m. in the Samhold Lutheran Church of Gonvick. The Rev. Paul Knutson officiated. (info courtesy of Melanie)
