Funeral services for Mr. Max W. Humphrey, 58, of Gainesboro, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2000, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at McFadden Cemetery in Dover, AR, with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Humphrey, a manager at Nielsen & Bainbridge in Gainesboro, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born July 13, 1941, in Dover, AR, he was the son of Jewell Humphrey of Russellville, AR, and the late Abraham Murol Humphrey.

He was a Mason and a member of the Tannehill Lodge No. 133, Free and Accepted Masons, in Gainesboro, as well an Alderman for the Town of Gainesboro.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a son, Jeff Humphrey, Russellville, AR; a daughter, Tori (Humphrey) Smith, Killeen, TX; a special friend, Pam Humphrey, Cookeville; two step-sons, Ronald Strong, Hilham, and Paul Strong, Gainesboro; a step-daughter, Laura Thomas, Livingston; a brother, Harold Humphrey, Russellville, AR; four sisters, Debbie Garrett, Wilma McBride, both of Albuquerque, NM, Lola McGregor, North Little Rock, AR, and Ann Davis, Russellville, AR; and four grandchildren.
