The Surname is Spelled "Goins", not "Goin".
This has been a Major Problem with this Surname over the years. The Town is correct at Goin, Claiborne Co., Tennessee, USA. Yes the Headstone is Misspelled, also.
And I think that the Stone Cutter, may have gotten the Town Name and the Surname misspelled on the Order. And I have seen this Problem in many of the Goins Surnames. As I have in other Surnames, in other's Person's, in my Tree.

Eli was the county clerk and in all of his writings his last name was spelled Goin. the s was added in Kentucky and to families who couldn't write. The name started out as Going until 1780's and has been spelled 25 different ways on the census.
