The son of Monserate and Consuelo (Toro) Camacho, he was born on February 19, 1938 in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico.
Camacho was a retired custodian for the Port Jervis school district and an avid baseball fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Monalisa Anthony and her husband Michael of Greeley, PA; two sons, Hector Camacho Jr. of Port Jervis and Shawn Herman of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held on Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford, PA, with the Reverend Robert Mayer of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment is at Rural Valley Cemetery in Cuddebackville.
