She was born April 4, 1909, on a farm northwest of Lyle, the daughter of Harvey and May (Taylor) Alexander. She was reared on a farm southwest of Lyle. She attended District 110 country school and graduated from Norcatur High School in 1929, then attended beauty school in Topeka. She returned to Norcatur and was a hairdresser and telephone operator. She was a member of the Norcatur United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors include a brother, Glenn Alexander, and two nieces, Maryllin and Jay Locy, all of Norcatur; and Beverly and Barr Lintz, Syracuse, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pearl Alexander in 2001; and a sister-in-law, Pearl E. Alexander, in 2003.
Funeral services were Thursday afternoon at the Norcatur United Methodist Church. Pastor Kathleen Aeillo officiated and burial was at the Norcatur Cemetery.
