Rose West died Nov.11,1998 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. Rose Mary West,the second of nine children, was born June 1,1925 in Dogeville,Wi to George and Mary Burns West.She graduated from Janesville High School in 1943. After her father died in 1941 she was called the "little mother", always helping her Mom with the other children in their family. Rose worked at Sears in Janesville, Welty Billing,and was secretary/treasurer of McMahon Construction

Rosie married Edward L. McMahon on Nov. 29,1947 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Janesville,Wi. She is survived by her husband, 2 children,Raymond G.(Vicki)McMahon of Beloit and Patricia L. (Max) Krause of Sterling Il.,and 7 grandchildren; Jennifer(Todd)Coomer and Timothy(Melisa)McMahon both of Beloit,Elizabeth,Edward,Amanda, Melinda, and Rebecca Krause all of Sterling,Il. and one great grandchild,Kiahana Krause of Sterling,Il.,3 sisters; Margaret West and Anna Name of Rockford,Il.and Sarah DeWitt of Viroqua,Wi,one brother,James West of Colorado, many nieces and nephewa.

She was preceded in death by her parents,3 brothers; Henry"Hank"West,George A. West,and Gerald West,and one sister,Agnes Anderson. Burial is in Mount Thabor Cemetery,Beloit,Wi

Rosie enjoyed playing cards and taught her grandchildren many card games. She was a grandmother,who her grandchildren loved spending time with. She was a wonderful seamstress and cook ,who loved to have her family together. She had many friends and she made them feel special. Rosie had a great laugh that people will always remember.
