"Death Came very Suddenly--Ira P. Gillett of near Portland passed away Tuesday, Funeral Thursday

Ira P. Gillettof six miles south east of this city died suddenly Tuesday morning at his home from heart trouble. He had been ill for some time with Bright's disease but was able to be up and around. He got up at the usual time, Tuesday morning, ate a hearty breakfast, dyking suddenly a few minutes afterwards.
The decreased was the son of Joseph and Mary Ann "Paul" Gillett and was born in Noble Township, April 09th, 1842 being 68 years of age at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage in 1867 to Rebecca and has spent his entire life on a farm in Noble Township where he was born and reared.
Besides his wife he is survived by the following children; Mary Ann, wife of Simeon Bickel, of Madison Township, Emily Matilida, wife of George Kantner of Madison Township, Harriet M., wife of Charles Kantner of 3 miles south east of Portland, William E. Gillett resideing on Floral Avenue in this city, Albert Gillett of four miles east of Portland Bertha v., and Eva Nevada, at home and Irvin Percy Gillett of Brice. Three children, Anna M., wife of Daniel Shauver of southeast of this city and Charles E. and Rachel are decreased.
The funeral services will be held at the Methodist Salamonia Church Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The funeral party will leave the house at 1:00 o'clock. Rev. O.E. Evans will officiate and interment will take place in the Salamonia Cemetery..
