Baptism of Sara Horter, daughter of Mathias & Hanna Horter, baptized 07/17/1826. Sponsor: Esther Eister. (Note: Esther was sponsoring her niece, as Hanna or Hannah Eister Harter/Horter was Esther's elder sister, both of them daughters of Jacob and Philippina (Gump/Kump) Eister.)

Baptism of Esaias Kiehl, son of Samuel & Esther Kiehl, b. 01/19/1832; baptized 14/15/1832. Sponsors: Peter Kiehl & Christina. (Note: Sponsors Peter and Christina Kiehl were Esther's in-laws, the child's grandparents. Yes, the baptism date is clearly incorrect, but was transcribed this way on the web from church records.)

Baptism of Maria Kiehl, daughter of Samuel & Esther Kiehl, b. 05/10/1834; baptized 06/08/1934. Sponsors: Michael Reitz & Elizabeth. (Note: This means Esther's daughter Maria (aka Mary Sophia) was sponsored by her aunt and uncle, because Elizabeth Eister Reitz (aka Magdalena) was Esther's elder sister.)

During her life, Esther may be seen as the wife of shoemaker Samuel Kiehl on the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses in Northumberland County. For several of the censuses they have a grandchild living in the household. In 1870, it's Mary Romberger, and in 1880, it's Clara Romberger, both daughters of their daughter, Mary Sophia Kiehl Romberger, wife of Gilbert Romberger.
