North Augusta, Sept. 21 - - While watching for thieves in his seed house Wednesday night, Calbraith L. Butler died of apoplexy, and was found by his son early yesterday morning. Mr. Butler was 60 years of age and was the son of the late Col. A. P. Butler, and a member of a family which has figured largely in South Carolina social and political life. He lived at the old Butler home, near here, and has large farming interests. He is survived by two sons, 17 and 15 years of age, and one sister, Mrs. John Ramsey of North Augusta. Mr. Butler was quite prominent in this section and once represented Aiken in the Legislature. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
