Frances was born May 8, 1919, in Bennington, Vt., daughter to the late Frank and Fanny (Brockway) Hewett. She retired as a machine operator from Thomaston Special Tool years ago. She was a former communicant of St. Peter Trinity Episcopal Church of Thomaston. Fran enjoyed listening to country music and was a president of the Kenny Roberts fan club.
Frances is survived by six sons, Terry Simmons, William Simmons, James Simmons, Godfrey Wells, Noel Wells and Michael Martin; three daughters, Judy Murgatroy, Dorie Williams and Cheryl Peck; a brother, Sterling Hewett; 46 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Services are private. A graveside service will be held May 8 at noon. Burial will be in Northfield Cemetery. Lyons Funeral Home of Thomaston has been entrusted with her care.
