Mary Ann Thomas Swint, 79, of
Charleston, passed away April
28, 2007, at the Huntington
Hospice House, Huntington. She
was a schoolteacher at Sacred
Heart Grade School for 22 years
and was honored by becoming a
Nationally Recognized Catholic
School Teacher in 1977. Mary was
a graduate of Charleston High
School and Ohio Wesleyan University.
She was also a member of the Rock
and Gem Club of Kanawha County.
She was preceded in death by
her husband of 48 years, John
P. Swint
. She is survived by her
daughter, Ann Burke
and her husband George of York,
Pa.; sons, John Swint and his wife
Debbie of Wooster, Ohio, and Howard
Swint and his wife Sherry of
Charleston; sister, Martha Jane
Thomas Ruffner of Huntington;
brother, John Christopher Thomas
of Charleston; eight grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild. Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10
a.m, Tuesday, May 1, at Sacred
Heart Co-Cathedral, Charleston
with Monsignor P. Edward Sadie
officiating. A private family burial
will take place in Mount Olivet
Cemetery.
