EDITOR SIGNAL
Married, Thursday, Aug.11th, at 10 o'clock a.m. at the residence of F. A. Nuzman, Circleville, by the Rev. Hibburd, Mr. Alfred Johnson aand Miss Julia Reed, both of Soldier City, Quite a number of intimate friends accompanied the fair bride and groom to the place of marriage. Immediately after the ceremony was pronounced the gay party returned to Soldier to permitted to partake of a bounteous dinner, at the Thompson House, prepared for the occasion. After the usual amount of congratulations the joyful party returned to their respective homes and all feeling that they had spent one pleasant and happy day.

Julia Ann Reed was born in Knox co, Ill., March 11, 1846, and departed this life Oct. 30, 1928, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Shove, near Havensville, Kan.
In early girlhood with her mother and her brothers she crossed the plains in a covered wagon. They settled on a farm near Soldier, Kansas. She was married to Alfred Johnson in 1881. To them were born four children: Alta, now Mrs. R. J. Shove of Havensville; Ira M. of Topeka; Silas of Coin, Iowa; Wade H. died in infancy. Mr. Alfred Johnson died in 1919.
Mrs. Johnson became a Christian, uniting with the Soldier Methodist church transferring to Havensville upon her removal here. She lived a good, useful, upright Christian life.
On account of failing health since 1925, she had made her home with her daughter. She was the last of a family of five brothers and two sisters, a sister preceding her in death last spring at the age of eighty six. Besides her children she is survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a number of relatives in Illinois, the place of her birth.
The funeral service was conducted in the Soldier Methodist church, Nov. 1, by Rev. Mayfield of Soldier. Burial was in the Soldier cemetery.
