The story is that Paul went off to war, which I believe was WWI, and never returned. One version says he never returned from the war, and another version says he returned from the war, but didn't return home. If anyone has any information on Paul Gilbert born in or near Oakland, Coles Co., Illinois in June 1892, it would be greatly appreciated.
