Private in US Army in 1920.
A semi-permanent camp located at Calexico, Imperial County, it was formerly known as Camp U.S. Troops. Named in honor of Colonel John H. Beacon, 6th Infantry, the post was established for border patrol duties during the Mexican Revolution, 1911-20.
