Bob was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, founding board member of what is now Heart to Heart Pregnancy Support Center and president of Arkansas Right to Life for 10 years and received the Mary Rose Doe award and was a two-term president of West Ark Area council of the Boy Scouts of America, where he received the Silver Beaver Award. Robert was also a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, and his interests included bicycling, fly fishing, camping model railroads, flying and anything to do with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marsha Lynn Burr of Ft. Smith; one daughter, Amy Colleen Gehrke of White Fish Bay, Wis.; his mother Merle (Thomason) Shellenbarger of Boise; one brother, Michael Burr of Grand Junction, Colo.; step-sister, Jeanne Fitzgerald of Boise; step-brother, Gary Shellenbarger of Albany, N.Y.; and his granddaughters, Kendall and Emily Gehrke of White Fish Bay.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles (Bill) Burr. Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. February 14, 2009 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jerome, Idaho, under the direction of Hove-Robertson Funeral Chapel.
