This family Cemetery no longer exists. The land was sold and changed hands many times. Somewhere over time an owner plowed over the cemetery and there were nothing but stones to mark the the graves.
My information about this cemetery and the graves there come from old family papers and Bibles by the Wells family.
The location of the cemetery was on the old David Wells farm right behind Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Mecklenburg County. The land for the church to be built was given to the congreation by David Wells children about the time of the Civil War.
The first meetings were held in what is now the churchyard under an oak tree that still stands.
