Shadrack Busby Dead

Former Resident and Respected Citizen of This Community

Shadrack Busby was born in Cedric, Ohio, Aug. 3, 1831. He was married to Miss Sarah Galbraith June 3, 1858. They were the parents of eight children five sons and three daughters of whom three sons and one daughter survive the father.

Mr. Busby moved to Lexington, Ills. in 1876, and lived in this Township until 1890 when he moved to Webster City, Iowa which was his home until last summer when he went to Ames to live with his son Charles. Mr. Busby visited his son Millard Busby who resides near Lexington for six weeks last fall and also called on many of his old friends.

He was taken with a severe attack of heart trouble some three weeks ago which terminated fatally last Monday, Dec. 16. The funeral occurred on Wednesday at Ames, and then the body was brought to Lexington for burial and placed beside his beloved wife who preceded him some seventeen years ago. The body was accompanied by his son E.E. Busby, and reached here on the Denver Thursday and was met at the station by a company of his old friends and neighbors. Mr. Busby was a good citizen, a kind husband and loving father and leaves many friends to mourn his loss.
