Mrs. Bowers Last Rites Saturday

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Eastside Baptist church for Mrs. J. P. Bowers, who died at the Holmes Memorial hospital at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
The Rev. Harvey Hoffman, pastor of the Eastside Baptist church, will officiate at the last rites with burial to take place in the Harwood cemetery.
The body will remain at the baker Funeral home until 1 p.m. Saturday after which it will be taken to the church for the services.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Jeddo on June 4, 1872, the daughter of Daniel and Druella E
Kin's White, native Texans. She had lived in Gonzales and this county all her life. Her home was at 508 Fair street.
In 1889 she was married to J. P. Bowers, who preceded her in death in 1935. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist church.
Survivors include four sons, Ottie of Waller, Claude of Gonzales, Clifton of Austin, and Olan Bowers of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Jim Neathery of Gonzales; 16 children, 41 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.
