Marvin Douglas "Spud" Wiggins II, 18, of Temecula, Calif., died Thursday, July 20, in Tampa as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Aug. 15, 1987 in Palatka and was educated in Putnam County, Onondaga and Monroe County of New York and the Hillsborough County School District. During his early youth, he attended Church of God By Faith in Welaka and Progressive Church of God in Christ in New York, where he served as an usher. His hobbies included cooking and writing and he enjoyed basketball and football.
Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Henry Wiggins and Ida Mae Flynn, and maternal grandparents, Lorraine and William "Bill" Moultrie.
Survivors are parents, Marvin (Florence) Wiggins Sr. of Temecula, Calif.; Jencey Faye (Freddie Jr.) Brinson of Tampa; sister and brothers, Angel Vaden of Chicago, Sheriden Wiggins of Montgomery, Ala., Sha-Zonne Boggs, Sha-Tayshia Moultrie Brinson and Freddie Brinson III, all of Tampa, Wadell Vaden II of Temecula, Calif. and Samuel Moultrie Hendrieth of Palatka; great-grandmother, Verbena Bryant of Palatka; maternal grandfather, Samuel Perkins of Memphis, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be Saturday, July 29, at Church of God By Faith in Welaka, pastor Irish Smith. Pastor Emmanuel Roberts Sr. is the eulogist. Interment will be in Welaka-Georgetown Cemetery.
