Thomas Uren was the son of Simon and Elizabeth Uren. He was born April 15, 1870 in Wisconsin. When he was an infant, his family moved to California where they remained until he was 14 years old. He married Viola Kinney on March 28, 1895 and they farmed near Stockton, Illinois until March 1, 1910, when they moved to Iowa, buying a farm in Allamakee county.
He was preceded in death by his wife Viola and two of his daughters. He was 71 years old.
