Vera M. Stasukinas, 82, of Springfield died Thursday at St. John's Hospice.
She was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Springfield, the daughter of Clements and Marciona Visnaskas. She married Albert Joseph "Alby" Stasukinas in 1933; he preceded her in death in 1986. Mrs. Stasukinas, a lifelong resident of Springfield, and her husband were longtime owners of Alby's Tavern.
She was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and had also been a member of the church choir. She was a member of Lithuanian American Club and past member of The Sweet Adelines of Springfield.
Survivors: three sons, Albert G., Joseph "Jerry" and John J. Stasukinas, all of Springfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Dan Stankus of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass: St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, the Rev. Rodney Schwartz officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
