Albert Joseph "Alby" Stasukinas, 71, of Springfield, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Hospital.

He was born in Springfield, the son of Joseph Adam and Rose Anna Poskevicius Stasukinas. A former coal miner, Mr. Stasukinas at the time of his death owned and operated Alby's Tavern.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson; three brothers, George, Ambrose and Adam, and two sisters, including Anna R. Staken.

He was a member of St. Cabrini Church, Eagles Lodge Aerie 437 and Bartender's Local.

Surviving are his wife, Vera; three sons, Joseph Jerry, Albert G. and John J., all of Springfield; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
