STAFFORD BALLEW
Funeral services for Stafford Ballew, 63, who died early Friday morning at a local hospital, will be held at the home of his niece, Miss Lillian Center, 3 Old Bleachery Road on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. C.H. Sutherland and the Rev. G.E. Gould will conduct the service and interment will be in Camp Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Ralph Barton, Charlie Godshall, Broadus Hartin, Andy Odom, W.L. Whitmire and Ernest Dill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Summey, Henry Elledge, Sidney Williams, Zeb Quinn, E.J. Knight and Paul Miller.
The active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will meet at 3 Old Bleachery Road at 1:50 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
Mr. Ballew was born and reared in Greenville County and his parents were the late Ansel and Josie Moon Ballew. For many years he had made his home in Greenville and the residence at present is 220 Hammett Street. He was engaged in textile work before his health failed.
He attended the Morgan Memorial Baptist Church.
His wife, Mrs. Mary Center Ballew, survives him with one daughter, Mrs. Rommette C. Bishop of Greenville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie McHugh of North Carolina; two brothers, Croel and Bunyan Ballew, both of Greenville and eight grandchildren.
The body is at 3 Old Bleachery Road awaiting the service.
